Located in downtown Missoula, MT, James Corwin is a high‑end art gallery and working studio. We welcome you to join a stimulating, motivated and art‑filled environment. We are looking for an applicant with an outgoing personality who greets every customer as close friends and family. We are known for our welcoming environment! It is important to initiate conversation, regardless of trying to make a sale. With that said, however, we are looking for candidates with a strong sales background and ability to close a sale. Ideally the candidate should be familiar with artwork, a transactional sales process, installing artwork, and keeping the gallery space elegant and tidy, and promoting the gallery through its marketing programs. To further enhance the customer experience, the candidate will handle online customer inquiries and help create a robust CRM system to manage our growing client base. We go above and beyond in our customer relationships—making personal phone calls, sending periodic check‑ins, annual gifts, and birthday cards. We strive to ensure no one is ever “lost in the mix” and that every customer is treated like family. Responsibilities: Represent the gallery to promote and sell products/services to existing and prospective clients. Manage and operate the front desk. Close and complete sales through point of sale systems. Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships. Resolve customer issues and complaints to maximize satisfaction. Establish, develop and maintain relationships with our exhibiting artists. Update website content as needed. Build an online community and engage with comments. Plan and execute public events at the gallery, i.e. art shows, and dinners. Prepare and package orders for fulfillment. Requirements: Strong experience in sales (3‑5+ years) Minimal artistic ability, but an understanding of artistic processes. Familiarity with BRM and CRM practices along with ability to build productive business professional relationships. Highly motivated and target driven! Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills. Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills. Relationship management skills and openness to feedback. Knowledge of art and ability to speak comfortably about art. Able to follow instruction and install exhibitions. Self‑motivated yet customer‑focused. Excellent writing and editing skills in English. Excellent communication skills and outgoing personality. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (artwork can be heavy). Excellent and careful packaging skills for packing artwork for shipment. Ability to present oneself as professional and polished and continually keep the gallery space the same. Compensation and Benefits: $21 per hour Commissions 2 weeks paid vacation + all government holidays after 6 months. Paid time off Part‑time schedule: Weekdays 1‑5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; First Fridays of the month until 8 p.m. Job type: Part‑time Prior to hiring, a background check will be implemented.
