Art Therapist - Hope Learning Academy Springfield, IL Base pay range $45,000.00/yr - $45,000.00/yr Responsibilities Conduct baseline Art Program session to determine student’s current level of functioning in the Art setting. Design a specialized Art Therapy Program based on current cognitive, social, emotional, communications, and motor goals. Implement targeted programs/activities in weekly sessions, either in group or individual settings. Provide students with an enjoyable Art experience in the classroom which allows the opportunity for group as well as individual participation in the areas of creativity, use of materials, multi‑media experiences, etc. Record student’s or class’s progress after each session, including goals addressed, session plan, comments, and thoughts/ideas for next session. Provide Art resources for classroom teachers as necessary, including requested projects, lesson plans, and materials by subject areas (animals, seasons, holidays, etc.). Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Art Therapy and/or LBS1‑certified. 6+ months of experience in the provision of a formal art program for children with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Art Therapy.
