The Assistant Director of Government Relations in Penn Medicine's Department of Government and Community Relations supports Penn Medicine's advocacy efforts across state, federal, and regional levels, with a particular focus on Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Reporting to the Senior Director of Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs, the Assistant Director helps develop and implement Penn Medicine's annual advocacy agenda and supports relationship-building with government officials across jurisdictions. This role works closely with Penn Medicine entities, departments, faculty, and staff to facilitate communication with elected and appointed officials.
Bachelor of Arts or Science in Political Science/Public Administration or related field. Required. 5+ years experience in the public sector and/or government relations positions. Knowledge of the legislative process, health care industry and health policy required. Position requires extensive knowledge of hospital issues such as Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, hospital financing, and regulatory issues.
