Job Description

Southern Arkansas University is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as its Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Director of Information Technology Services (ITS). This is a fulltime, on-site position in Magnolia, Arkansas.

Duties: responsible for IT security, compliance, governance, risk management, ongoing surveillance of the SAU network, and management of the ITS department daily operations; responsible for the creation of and ensuring compliance with policies, processes, and procedures to ensure that informational assets of the institution are adequately protected in the digital environment and other duties assigned.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Science: Computer Science, Information Technology or Cyber Security required. Master of Science in Computer Science or related field preferred; 10 years of experience with successful history in cybersecurity technical skills, risk management, compliance, communication, and leadership; CISO must understand complex information technology and operation; must have the following technical skills: security architecture, database security, firewall management, application security, data management, Incident Response Planning, and Cybersecurity Incident Response Handling; must have the ability to identify potential security risks and implement strategies to minimize or eliminate the loss exposure associated with the digital data unique to the higher education environment, including student academic records and financial information for both internal and external stakeholders; must stay current regarding industry regulations and mandated governmental reporting to ensure the institution remain in compliance; must have excellent communication skills to collaborate with institution administration, faculty, staff, and other internal and external stakeholders to achieve security goals; must be able to communicate complex technological information clearly and give well-organized presentations; should have extensive management experience and know how to train and guide the ITS team effectively; must have experience with CCSP designation, SSCP designation, CySA+, Network+, PenTest+, Security+, Network Vulnerability Assessment Professional; experience with government procurement and higher education preferred.
