Job Description Job Description JOB TITLE : Project Engineer Reports To: Project Manager POSITION GENERAL DESCRIPTION : The Project Engineer should have a general understanding of the steps of a project from the bid to job close-out, and will be tasked to assist the Project Manager, Superintendent, and/or Estimator throughout the duration of the specific construction project either at a job-site or from the main office. POSITION CHARACTERISTICS : An energetic, forward thinking, creative individual with high ethical standards, appropriate professional image, sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong management focus. An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and retains good communication skills. This position requires a versatile individual who is results-oriented, able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, well-organized, self-directed and who is a team player. POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: General Responsibilities Keep records of all drawings and updates. Record accurate and complete meeting minutes Distribute information, drawings, and meeting minutes to all necessary parties in a timely manner. Receive, review, log, track and distribute RFI’s (Requests for Information), submittals, and daily reports in the project management software. Receive, review, log, track and schedule on-site material deliveries. Develop and nurture client relations. Project Engineering Provide project photo documentation. Ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures. Attend and document project specific walk- through. Create, review, tracking and distribution of the punch list items. Execute project close-out documentation. Coordinate site permits and subcontractors. Assist with material procurement and coordination of change orders. Meet regularly with Project Manager, Superintendent, and/or Estimator to report progress and concerns. Assist with additional projects, duties, and tasks as assigned. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Knowledge Required: Basic computer abilities and understanding of the construction industry. Experience Required: 2-4 years of experience in a Project Engineer role. Skills/Abilities: Shows the ability to have strong interpersonal, organizational, task management, group speaking, business writing, communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills. Must be able to successfully negotiate, and have experience with purchasing, scheduling, quality management, project scope and contract management.
