Our client is a leading biotechnology therapeutics company based in Seattle, United States they are looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Officer to join their team

Salary & Benefits

• $115,000 p/a

The Role

• Review incidents and supports personnel in completing high quality investigations and resulting actions
• Monitor effectiveness of investigations and resulting actions
• Identify incident trends and reports to functional EHS Leads, such that improvements can be identified
• Provide EHS advice regarding standard issues to managers and employees
• Conduct document reviews
• Support risk analysis and risk assessments
• Support EHS Dept staff to provide training
• Assist with new starter inductions and delivers awareness training to all staff
• Assist in developing topics for EHS Forums for discussion and generation of action plans
• Support liaison for external agencies during visits and for reporting
• Assist in supporting site projects requiring EHS evaluation
• Provide expertise in a limited number of EHS fields
• Support reporting requirements for corporate and legal obligations
• Build good working relationships with key contacts
• Organise time to meet short term deadlines set by others
• Assist in meeting departmental objectives

Requirements

• Proven ability to learn quickly in a changing environment
• Exiting EHS knowledge from academic courses, may specialise in the specific areas
• Externally accredited external EHS qualifications desirable
• Good communicator
• Problem solver
• Analytical mind with sound, critical thinking skills
• Team player
• Organisational skills
