DESCRIPTION OF WORK


As a Fiscal Technician, your work involves the application of bookkeeping principles and practices. You will perform advanced bookkeeping duties, such as reviewing, posting, and processing a variety of financial, payroll, and audit documents. In addition, you will analyze forms, correspondence, reports, and other financial records for IV-E determination. You will also maintain expenditure and budgetary control accounts and prepare reports relating to account and fiscal status. Furthermore, you will review purchased services invoices for accuracy and supporting documentation, as well as code the invoice accordingly. Other duties of this position involve managing the process of obtaining medical cards for children placed in foster care, attending monthly meetings with health care providers, and filing all court orders accordingly.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY


QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Fiscal Assistant; or
  • Three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or
  • One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires possession of a current driver's license which is not under suspension.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
