IT Manager

About the Position

We are seeking an IT Manager to support a large, transit infrastructure program. You'll play a vital role in maintaining the stability and performance of business-critical systems, including internal platforms and client-facing websites. Serving as the primary point of contact for day-to-day program technology needs, this position delivers hands-on support to end users while also overseeing the resolution of complex hardware, software, and network issues. The IT Manager escalates or coordinates with external partners when necessary, ensuring prompt issue resolution across the organization. This role serves as a subject matter expert in key technologies and stays current on emerging tools, standards, and best practices in IT service delivery specific to large transit infrastructure programs. The IT Manager actively identifies areas for operational improvement and guides the implementation of practical, forward-thinking solutions. A strong focus on reliability, responsiveness, and user experience is essential to success in this role.

This is a long-term, full-time, on-site position located in Manhattan, NY.

Responsibilities
  • Accountable for ensuring the smooth operation of all business applications including but not limited to both internal and external websites.
  • Oversee the implementation of new software and technologies including database maintenance and performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex to advanced hardware, software and network issues.
  • Prioritize work across teams and the department to ensure the needs of the business are met.
  • Collaborate across teams to help resolve integration issues or implement cross functional initiatives.
  • Organize and facilitate office move logistics, according to IT standards practices and procedures.
  • Provide frontline end-user support on a daily basis.
  • Anticipate related issues and advise end-users on appropriate actions.
  • Use advanced knowledge of systems and support to develop recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for the reporting of incidents, problem management and metrics.
  • Act as liaison between IT, Operations, and Developers as appropriate to resolve issues and implement solutions; ensure accountability and drive results.
  • Partner with the business and office to solve issues and remove barriers to productivity.
  • Assist leadership teams with analyzing IT asset portfolio and provide guidance around technology usage and optimization.
  • Provide status reports on utilization, system performance and other related matters.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years' of progressive technology leadership and operations experience, preferably in large-scale construction projects.
  • Experience using various scripting languages to create automation in various systems/tools (e.g. PowerShell, JavaScript, Python, etc.)
  • Experience modifying/maintaining company websites.
  • Experience with operating systems and networks, enterprise backup and recovery tools and procedures, systems performance-monitoring tools, email and productivity tools administration, virtualization, content management, and technical support.
  • Experience in analyzing, maintaining, and repairing distributed systems.
  • Experience in project management with knowledge of performance measurement of IT projects.
  • Experience in cybersecurity, IAM, disaster recovery, and business continuity, including vulnerability assessment and remediation and security awareness.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS SharePoint.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in computer science or information technology.
  • 12+ years' of progressive IT leadership experience, preferably in large-scale construction projects.
  • Experience with industry standard project and construction management software (e.g., Primavera P6, TILOS, MS Project, Bluebeam, RSMeans, etc.)
  • Relevant industry certifications.
Compensation Details

The salary range listed for this role is $118k-$160k/year ($57-$77/hour). The final salary offered will be based on multiple factors and thoughtfully aligned with each candidate's level of experience, breadth of skills, total education achieved, certifications/licenses that have been obtained, geographic location, etc.
