Job Description

Summary

We are seeking an experienced and security-focused IT Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of our IT operations. This role is responsible for maintaining a reliable and secure IT infrastructure, implementing company-wide IT policies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The IT Manager will play a critical role in shaping the company’s security posture, driving technology initiatives, and supporting the needs of a fast-growing team, while also ensuring alignment with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud environments, and hardware.
  • Establish, document, and enforce IT policies across all areas: security, data protection, access control, acceptable use, procurement, and incident response.
  • Support and align IT systems with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, ensuring compliance with applicable standards (e.g., ISO, FDA, HIPAA).
  • Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect systems, data, and communications, including endpoint protection, monitoring, and vulnerability management.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with the principle of least privilege.
  • Lead IT projects such as infrastructure upgrades, software deployments, and system integrations, ensuring security and QMS requirements are embedded by design.
  • Provide expert-level technical support and guidance to employees, resolving complex issues efficiently.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and security awareness trainings for employees.
  • Develop and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT systems, configurations, and policies.
  • Collaborate with leadership to forecast technology needs and align IT strategy with business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT management, IT operations, or a senior IT/security role.
  • Proven experience working in startup environments, with the ability to operate in fast-paced, resource-constrained settings and build scalable systems from the ground up.
  • Strong expertise in cybersecurity principles, network security, and system hardening.
  • Hands-on experience with identity and access management (IAM), endpoint management, and security monitoring tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to create, implement, and enforce IT and security policies.
  • Experience supporting IT aspects of a Quality Management System (QMS), including electronic records/signatures, audit trails, and compliance with ISO/FDA/HIPAA or equivalent frameworks.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to act under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of working effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Proactive, strategic thinker with a track record of building secure, compliant, and scalable IT environments.
  • US-based.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
