Apidel Technologies is seeking a local contract Histology Technologist for a local contract job in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Job Description & Requirements Position: Histotechnician
Duration: Project Starting With 06+ months of contract and after understanding of instrument of facility, Work environment of facility & bonding with manager the project it will go to FTE.
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Shift Timing: 1pm to 9:30 pm
Required Skills:
•\tEmbedding experience.
•\tMicrotomy experience
•\tCut 20 to 30 blocks/hour, Embed 20 to 30/hour
Job Description:
•\tThe histotechnician will perform all routine and special paraffin histotechnology duties in our state of the art, CAP-certified pathology laboratory.
•\tUnder the guidance of a Senior or Lead Histotechnologist, you will provide high quality diagnostic material within established turn-around-times.
Position Responsibilities:
•\tEmbeds, cuts, stains and performs other tasks required to process tissue in the Immunohistochemistry laboratory.
•\tPerforms accurate gross description on tissue samples.
•\tPerform quality control procedures established for each method and maintains accurate records.
•\tOperates all instruments/ equipment according to accepted written procedures and recognizes and identifies instrument/ equipment problems.
•\tMeets acceptable turnaround time and productivity standards for the section.
•\tRecognizes testing errors/discrepancies or problems and notifies appropriate personnel; assists in problem resolution.
•\tRecord, transcribe, and maintain records of patient test results according to protocol.
•\tAssist other personnel with identifying and analyzing inconsistent and abnormal results.
•\tReview accuracy and completeness of results prior to releasing in the Laboratory Information System.
•\tComplete routine and STAT testing within acceptable turn-around time guidelines.
Required:
•\tAssociate degree in medical technology, chemistry, biology, or related life science.
•\tFormal training in Histology from an accredited program (720 hours).
•\tMeets CLIA personnel standard criteria.
•\tOver 1 years of embedding and Microtomy experience.
•\tSkills in microtomy, grossing, processing, embedding, cutting and routine special staining techniques.
•\t5-7 years of experience
