FWC’s (Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation) Division of Marine Fisheries Management is seeking someone to serve with the Analysis and Rulemaking team of professionals developing recommendations for the Commission and implementing fisheries management and policy for some of Florida’s most popular saltwater fisheries.
The successful candidate will serve as Division Historian and lead rulemaking research. In this role, they will analyze, synthesize, and manage historical records to inform on-going and future rulemaking, management, and policy decisions. This position oversees one part-time position that conducts records management.
In support of on-going and future rulemaking and management decisions, this position coordinates the development of the division’s annual workplan and monitors progress in workplan completion. Additionally, the successful candidate will assist in development of technical papers and presentations on management of various Florida fisheries to support the Commission's rulemaking process and help the Commission build a record of decision.

A bachelor’s degree in fisheries, marine science, or biology or four years direct experience conducting marine fisheries research, public outreach on marine fisheries, or in managing marine fisheries. Those with a master’s degree or PhD, or a bachelors in fisheries, marine science, biology, and at least two years of work experience related to marine fisheries will be given preference.
