Job Quick Facts Specialty: Neurohospitalist Job Type: Locum Tenens Facility Location: Springfield, MO Service Setting: Inpatient Reason For Coverage: Supplemental Coverage Period: Starting Jan 18, 2026 Ongoing Coverage Type: Clinical Only Shift Schedule: - Days, nights, weekends, potential holidays 7a7p, 7p7a, 7a1p rounding (flexible based on volume) Admissions: Yes Rounding included: Yes (inpatient & consults) Required to Supervise APPs: Yes Patient Volume: 12 patients per shift 10 consults per 24 hours 10 stroke activations per day (shared with APPs) Support Staff: 9 RNs, 5 APPs, 1 office staff Specialty Backup: Available for hospitalist/intensivist admissions outside stroke protocols Case Mix: Stroke-heavy; comprehensive stroke center Procedures: Transcranial Doppler (TCD) interpretation Lumbar puncture General neurology consult procedures TNK/mechanical thrombectomy patient management Trauma Level: Level I EMR: Epic Other Info: Must be self-motivated for heavy stroke volume Provider may read TCDs remotely or onsite Only stroke-related admits (TNK or mechanical thrombectomy); all others admitted by hospitalist/intensivist Last 24 months of case logs for LP and TNK required for presentation Temporary Privileges available: Yes Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered Requirements Active MO License or IMLC BC BLS Recent LP & TNK case logs (24 months)
