Position Summary:

The Plan Review Specialist plays a vital role in guiding newly onboarded customers through the final stages of their basement remodeling journey. This customer-facing position combines construction knowledge, design consultation, and relationship management to ensure a seamless transition from contract to construction.

You’ll be responsible for conducting on-site visits to finalize floor plans, assist in material selections, and provide expert guidance on design enhancements or functional upgrades. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of residential construction, and a service-first attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-home consultations to review construction plans, verify site conditions, and confirm customer selections
  • Provide expert guidance on material and fixture options, ensuring selections meet both aesthetic and functional needs
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the customer’s project through value-added upgrades (e.g., lighting, flooring, cabinetry, fixtures), and present these options in a consultative and professional manner
  • Build rapport with homeowners, answer questions, and set clear expectations regarding timelines, scope, and next steps
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, designers, and the operations team to ensure alignment and accuracy of final project details
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product lines, construction trends, and pricing strategies
  • Document all selections, upgrades, and scope adjustments clearly and accurately within internal systems
  • Follow up with customers post-visit to ensure satisfaction and finalize selections

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in residential construction, home remodeling, or construction-related sales
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for helping homeowners visualize their finished space
  • Ability to interpret and explain construction plans, blueprints, and scope of work documents
  • Comfortable working in customer homes and on active job sites
  • Organized and detail-oriented with excellent follow-through
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM or construction management software
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for daily travel

Preferred Qualifications:

`Prior experience in material selection, interior design consultation, or finish upgrades in a construction setting

`Familiarity with construction project lifecycles and change order processes

`Sales experience with a consultative or solution-based approach

`Schedule & Compensation: Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Compensation: Competitive base salary plus commission on approved material or design upgradesTypical Pay: $80,000 - $100,000/ Year + with the opportunity to bonus and commission up to 50% of base salary
