Job Summary:

About the Role & Team

The Ranch Operations Ranch Hand is a fully outdoors position on an 890 acre filming ranch owned by the Walt Disney Company. The location for this role is based at the Golden Oak Ranch in Newhall, CA. This entry level position prioritizes maintenance of the ranch landscape and film sets, and we often working alongside others on infrastructure projects. The ranch has various areas including Lakes, Meadows, Forrest, Cabins and Barns. Overtime will be available, and our 40 hour schedule will entail weekends. Every day will be a different experience!

What You Will Do

• We will assist in all facets of Ranch operations including:
  Farming, Forestry, and Horticulture
  Construction
  Irrigation, Pipe Work, and Trenching
  Tractor operations
  Agricultural spraying
  Basic construction
• Maintenance including painting, cleaning and light welding (to be taught)
• Planting, landscaping and grading
• Wildlife interaction including snake relocation and monitoring of wildlife cameras
• Tree work (planting, pruning, removing)
• Crisis preparation and support: Fire fighting, Earthquakes, Flood and Medical aids
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Valid California driver’s license (or out of state equivalent temporarily)
• Confirmed ability to traverse rough terrain and can work in a complicated and changing environment
• Flexibility and ability to work in both a team and independent environment
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Farm/construction equipment experience
• Agricultural, Horticultural or Agronomy experience/background
• Bilingual in English and Spanish

The hiring range for this position in California is $23.67 - $31.75 per hour. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
