Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students in a K-12 educational setting in Talladega, AL. This contract position spans the academic school year, from August 1st through May 21st, providing consistent, hands-on experience in a dynamic school environment.

Responsibilities include assisting the speech-language pathologist in delivering therapeutic services to students ranging from 3rd to 12th grade. You will support individualized treatment plans, help monitor student progress, and provide direct intervention to a caseload of 20 to 40 students. Collaborating with educators and families to enhance communication skills and overall academic success is a key component of this role.

Qualifications and desired experience:

• Valid SLPA certification or licensure compliant with state requirements
• Experience working with children in a school or clinical setting preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
• Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and maintain detailed documentation
• Familiarity with educational goals and individualized education programs (IEPs)

Work schedule and location:

• Position is based in Talladega, AL
• School year contract from August 1st to May 21st
• 37.5 hours per week, typically aligned with the school calendar
