As a NICU RN, you will need a current RN license, a minimum of 2 years of NICU experience, and proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR). Required certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Recommended skills include experience with ventilators, advanced neonatal care techniques, and excellent communication abilities to collaborate effectively with the healthcare team and families.
