Job Title: Server Admin and Linux Engineer

Job Location: Hyderabad

Exp : 8+ Years

Shift Timings: Rotational 

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Server Hardware Installation and Maintenance:

• Expertly plan and execute the installation and configuration of physical servers, including Cisco UCS and HP Proliant servers.
• Ensure seamless integration of Cisco UCS, HP Proliant, and other hardware components.
• Monitor and maintain the health of the hardware components across different server brands.
• Stay updated on hardware advancements from Cisco, HP, and other vendors, recommending upgrades as needed.

• Operating System Installation and Configuration:

• Install and configure Linux operating systems on Cisco UCS and HP Proliant servers, customizing configurations as required.
• Manage OS updates, including the application of security patches and feature enhancements.
• Implement profiles, templates, and scripts in Cisco UCS Manager and HP's server management tools for streamlined provisioning.

• Bare Metal Provisioning:

• Develop and maintain automated provisioning workflows tailored to various server brands, including Cisco UCS and HP Proliant.
• Utilize provisioning tools specific to each server brand for deploying servers from scratch or rebuilding existing ones.
• Create and maintain service profiles, templates, and scripts for efficient server provisioning across diverse hardware.
• Optimize and fine-tune server profiles for specific roles and applications.

• Storage Management:

• Configure and manage storage solutions within the Cisco UCS and HP Proliant environments, including SAN, NAS, and local storage.
• Optimize storage resources for all server brands to ensure high availability and performance.
• Implement backup and recovery strategies for data stored across different hardware platforms.

• Network Configuration:

• Skillfully configure and manage network interfaces within the Cisco UCS and HP Proliant environments, leveraging the respective network hardware.
• Set up VLANs, port channels, and network policies to ensure optimal connectivity for all servers.
• Manage networking features and capabilities specific to Cisco UCS Manager and HP server management tools.
• Implement network redundancy and failover solutions across different hardware platforms.

• Security and Access Control:

• Apply robust security practices within the Cisco UCS and HP Proliant environments, ensuring access controls, hardening, and compliance.
• Manage user accounts, groups, and access policies within Cisco UCS Manager, HP server management tools, and Linux systems.
• Regularly audit and review security settings for all server brands.
• Respond promptly to security incidents and breaches.

• Backup and Recovery:

• Create and maintain backup and recovery strategies tailored to the various server brands, including Cisco UCS and HP Proliant.
• Develop and test disaster recovery plans specific to each hardware platform.
• Perform regular backups of configurations and data across different hardware and test recovery procedures.

• Performance Monitoring and Tuning:

• Actively monitor the performance and resource utilization of Cisco UCS, HP Proliant, and other servers.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks and fine-tune server parameters for optimal performance, considering differences in hardware.
• Implement capacity planning to ensure the infrastructure meets the organization's needs across multiple hardware platforms.

• Automation and Scripting:

• Develop scripts and automation tools for provisioning and managing servers across different hardware brands, including Cisco UCS and HP Proliant.
• Implement configuration management tools to automate tasks and ensure consistency across the infrastructure.
• Create self-healing and auto-scaling solutions within the diverse hardware environment.

• Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of hardware, software, and configuration details for all server brands.
• Generate regular reports on performance, availability, and incidents across Cisco UCS, HP Proliant, and other hardware.
• Ensure documentation is kept up to date and readily available to the IT team.

• Collaboration and Support:

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional IT teams to address complex issues and deploy new services across different hardware brands.

Education & Certifications:

B.E / B.Tech, MBA, MCA, Msc OR Any PG Qualification.
