FTE: Full Time, 0.9, 72.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Days
Pay: $23.50/hr.
Summary:
Demonstrates skills needed to perform entry level core first scrub responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Performs first scrub role on core surgical procedures.
- Applies principles of sterile technique throughout surgical procedures.
- Understands and uses instrumentation and equipment properly.
- Demonstrates ability to maintain sharp safety, ensure medication safety on the surgical field, competence is surgical counts, and anticipate surgeon's requests on core surgical procedures.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
- Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED. Preferred: Actively enrolled in Accredited Surgical Tech program with ST internship or Associate's Degree or Military trained.
- Required Licensure/Certification: State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. Preferred: Certified as a Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) within 9 months of hire.
- Minimum Experience: None required.
